Who, Why and Where.
Who? BackcountryPost was created and is maintained by Nick Woolley. I was born and raised in Logan, Utah and now live in Cottonwood Heights, UT. I live with my wife, Audra and our dogs, Nikita, Patina and Teak. I spend my weekdays working at Lifestyle Electronics, a custom electronics firm in Park City as the Logistics Manager and Web Master. In addition to this site I created and designed theirs, you can see it here.
Why? I really just wanted a place to post my trip pictures the way I wanted to do it. Sure, there are plenty of sites out there where you can upload pics and get your message across but you just don't have that ultimate control in how it gets delivered. In the future I hope to develop BackcountryPost into a community site where anyone can upload their own pictures and trip reports. In the meantime, click on my ad links and buy something, i could use the dough!
Where? Utah. I know there are so many beautiful places to be seen but I'm totally content with Utah at this point. I often think about where I might rather live than Utah and I never come up with anything better. Sure, it's a bit too conservative. Yes, the beer is weak. But where else can you have the kind of diverse landscapes so close as you find in Utah. From the Uinta Mountain Range to the Colorado Plateau, the possibilities are endless.
