You drove the Rubicon Trail???? Do tell... Please please put up a TR. Please! Did your jeep deserve the name?

The Rubicon was a lot of fun! My little Jeep handled it pretty well - came through without a scratch anywhere scratches aren't supposed to be. The skids did get a pretty good workout but that is what they are for. We had four rigs, with me in front, I was able to drive the wole trail without a spotter, but did ask for a spot on a few of the tougher obstacles. We had a full size K5 Blazer along and he got a couple small dents in his rear fenders, just a big rig to be piloting on such a tight/technical trail. But, the dents are small and he didn't care, so no harm no foul. He sheared all the bolts off holding on his driver side hub, but still made it up Cadillac Hill with only one front wheel turning.

Bodie and Mono lake were both very cool too.

Loon. I wanted to both camp at Loon Lake and do the Granite Bowl. Glad we did, too. From what I saw/have heard, all we missed out on is a long rough dirt road doing Wentworth. Whereas camping at Loon Lake and the views from inside the Granite Bowl were fantastic!

I think I see what you are seeing, but it's just an optical illusion. That's actually the shadow line of the big rock my driver side front wheel is on. Not that "some" parts didn't fall off on this trip, just not on my rig... We had a newish/stockish 2 door JK that had a couple small issues...

That was my very good friend Steve. We've been on a lot of trips and McGyver'd a lot of stuff together. He was the only one in our group that had done the Rubicon before (back in 2001) and he just took the dings to his rig in stride. Didn't let it spoil his fun.

I just noticed you had Ice Lakes on here. A show we air at work had an episode shot between Durango and Silverton which got me looking into places to hike around there. After checking out Google maps/photos, Ice Lakes & Island Lake made it on my to-do list.

It sure was pretty up there! I would definitely recommend that you check it out sometime. That area has a lot to offer. I know I'll be back in the future.

Where did you go in Powell? Looks like a cool canyon!

I just went to the Wahweap Marina area as I couldn't drive very long because of school and lots of assignments due.
I put in at Antelope Point and explored Antelope Canyon and a bit of Navajo Canyon. I also explored a bit of Lone Rock Canyon, but is was so crazy stormy that day that I didn't take any pictures.

The picture I added is from a narrow section of Antelope Canyon
Next time I want to explore the Bullfrog area and some of the side canyons there.
