Hi everyone,

This is a trip report from my first ever backcountry camping trip :)

Location was Frontenac Provincial Park in southern Ontario, Canada. Birch Lake campsites.

The party was myself and my 19 year old and their mini golden doodle.

1It was a 5.16KM hike from the parking lot to the campsite.

The hike in took us 1hour and 52 minutes at a pretty solid pace and only taking a short rest at a nice wide open rock area.

Equipment:
Osprey aether 55L backpack (carries weight very comfortably)
Marmot tungsten 1P tent
Klymit static V mattress
Nemo forte 35F sleeping bag
Primus essential trail stove kit
Petzl tikkina headlamp
Helinox chair one

Some pictures from the hike and the campsite

The mosquitos were quite good, not many which is unusual for this time of year up here.

I did have a tick attach itself onto my hiking socks. I'm glad to have had my thick hiking socks on as the tick didn't get through.
