Has anyone backpacked here? I found a few good trails to hike and I was wondering about anyone's experiences here?

Thanks

Hi It is a big forest. Most hiking is through forest. I like the hikes that end or at least have views along the way. This means you will be climbing up and up.One of the best BP trips is the "Triple Crown" It is tough, long but great views. Here is a nice blog with good info.

I like these 3, usually long day hikes but you can backpack.:

Here's a link for many in that area with nice descriptions:

I just went on my first hike 10.2 miles in the GW forest. It was mostly rocky, climbed 3000ft. Bears Wallow trail and Massanutten I think is what it's called.
