A friend and myself are researching the idea of hiking Walup Lake to White Pass next summer. Anyone on here have experience with that section of the PCT?

Curious about things like elevation gain, options for water, camping, and any other information you may think I need.

Thanks in advance.

Ah, Goat Rocks! One of the best segments of the entire PCT. Perhaps the best wildflower show in the USA, if you hit it at the right time.

I don't think as many people here hike in the PacNW, but there's a TON of great info at NWHikers.net, WTA.org, and OregonHikers.

That's about 40 miles. But there are some great side diversions worth adding on, like via Snowgrass Flats over to Goat Lake and Hawkeye Point; also, at Elk Pass, along the ridge to Packwood Saddle, Chimney ROck, and maybe to Lost Lake . Then back to the PCT, and on to Whites Pass.

There are probably several dozens of detailed trip reports on NWHikers, WTA, and OregonHikers. It's a popular section.
