Yay!!!!!
I got my Tarptent Bowfin 1 yesterday while I was at work and put it up today to put the sealant on!
This isn't a review, I am just get so happy when my gear comes and want to share! I told everyone at work, but there wasn't a lot of interest.
I think this tent is, or is one of, the heaviest 1p Tarptents, but I will take the extra oz. for freestanding. Just a personal preference.

They threw in a free cat too! Talk about puuurrrrrks. Hehe

Congrats on the new tent! I love my Tarptent and I'm sure you'll love yours! Freestanding certainly has its advantages in sandy/desert areas.

That looks like a nice tent! It must be the heavier than others due to the including cat!

My biggest thing is that I rarely stake my tent down. The ground were I go is just made up of rocks upon rocks.
Plus, I like to be able to sleep in once in awhile and if the sun is coming in, I just get out and move my tent real quick, then I am back to sleep hah!

You are so correct! Didn't think of that. Guess I will have to leave her behind on trips to cut weight. :)

I was wondering about the Bowfin. That's their new one, correct? I'm a fellow TT owner, and I love the quality of the product and the helpfulness of their staff.

It came out last year.

It is a big improvement over my other 1p which is almost 4lbs.

The only thing I thought of after I ordered it, is I don't know if the fly can be removed? I am going to mess with it this weekend.

I love having two doors and two vestibules. I like the diamond shape because I tend to sleep with my knees up high and to the side. Maybe it is in my head, but this tent seems LONG. Like I have room to lay down and put my pack and boots at my feet and not even touch them.

Happy so far and going to field test Friday night!

Take your cat and post a trip report. I'm sure it will be an interesting read.

Congrats on the new tent!

Congratulations on the new tent! Love your cat! Now do know how a tent is when in the wilds ... 'Home Sweet Home'.

Wishing you the Best with your new tent and many Happy Adventures.

Haha even my dog hated camping and hiking, I can't imagine my cats will be happy. But it would be cool! Maybe next kitten :)

She is a new addition to my household. Supposed to be an outdoor barn cat to help with my lizards and rodents, but she is a spoiled princess and sleeps with me every night haha.

Well, you can see my yard is kinda a mix of weeds and has some freeze burn. The field is all just green weeds right now too.

It is pretty warm out here right now, like 70s...it is awful. We had a couple days of rain a couple weeks ago, which probably brought the green. Winter doesn't seem like it is going to show itself this year. :(
