Hey guys,
Time seems to be crunched so far this summer for true backpacking, but I'd like to get away for one night for a short little backpacking trip. I was hoping the Uintas would be snow-free, but looks like that's not the case yet. Looking to do a hike of 5 or less miles one way to a meadow or by a lake to camp for a night. Preferably an undeveloped campsite, though if there's a nice hike to a developed campground, I'm up for that too. I've read up on Julie Andrews meadow and it seems like a nice option, but the trail also sounds like it gets a lot of use and doesn't sound super peaceful/might be hard to find a site. Is there another spot in the area that you'd recommend? Or a spot in a different area altogether? Willing to drive a little over an hour to get to the trailhead. We'd like to bring our dog, so that factors out some of the nice trails in BCC and LCC. Thanks in advance for your help!
