Teton Wilderness July 2024

I'm interested in this one.

Now Bob, this route looks Great! Have been everywhere along this route. Great Country!

Looks like a fun one! If I wasn't going to the Winds that week, I'd try to jump aboard.

If you take that Yellowstone Point alternate, I've got a killer campsite in upper Senecio I can send you.

I was thinking by that small lake 9142..... send me it, but I dont know if I can get Scat that far..... The Point is pretty nice.

@Bob - I'm definitely interested in this one! Checking my calendar and seeing if I can make it work. How many are you thinking in this group?

Scatman, me for sure.

Wish I could join. Unfortunately, my time off is limited and we usually take 2 weeks in September for a trip.
Me too, even with 4 weeks. Taking multiple trips out west just ain't possible and I'm addicted to the Winds in Sept. Too much left to see and fish, too little time. Be great to see some griz (at a long distance) in the Absarokas though! Still have fond memories of 5 Pockets.

So do I pass muster for this trip? All I have to do is put in the vacation time and I'm in for this one.

Sure. This is the easier one. Stay for the August one too.

Yes, do tell on the August trip.

I will say the worst part about the August trip is that I might be going along, which could be a make or break for a lot of people. :)
The same could easily be said of me, so we're probably an even match in that regard.

I am quite curious about this August route... need details for best use of limited vacation time. If it's in the Winds it may be an easy choice.

I'll let Bob explain why the August trip is not the easier one.

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be the weak link in August :)

@Bob will have to give you guys the details, but essentially it is an exploration of the Hidden Creek Drainage in the Teton Wilderness with some nasty vertical thrown in for good measure.

@wsp_scott , you'll be so far ahead of me that I won't be able to see you through my 300mm lens. :(

The elevation gain on day one does not look promising for us lowlander types.

The precipitous edges and my fear of heights might have me hanging onto the Scatman's kilt for dear life.

No one has yet mentioned the parts of the map that Bob has marked with a skull and crossbones.

To the right person this could be a lot to look forward to. :)
