Wild Horse Canyon (not to be confused with Little Wild Horse Canyon) is a pleasant little non-technical canyon hike in the southern end of the San Rafael Swell near Goblin Valley State Park.

Nice write up. WHC is a great canyon, I've never done it as a loop as you described but I have done it as an out and back from the same starting point you listed plus a few other routes. The upper portion can be completed in a much shorter loop by using this drainage 38.64778,-110.692302 and returning to the starting point you mentioned.

Dinosaur Egg Arch can be found in the upper end of the canyon, pretty sure its around here 38.644989,-110.704047

The goods are all in the lower end, here's description of the loop hike we've done a few times in about 2/3 hours w/ kids. We typically park here 38.646422,-110.663052 , follow the trail down to WHC and hit the slickrock here 38.648291,-110.66713 . Next we go directly up to the Wild Horse Window 38.653276,-110.676401 and on the return route we descend the slick rock here 38.649766,-110.670714 to the main canyon so we can hit the mini slot (best slot in the canyon) 38.648073,-110.66831 before returning to the car park.

The lower end of the canyon can have some pretty nasty quicksand patches even weeks after a flood.... I speak from experience.. two experiences.

BTW that rock art is fake, it popped up just a few years ago. There is real rock art in the canyon but I've had hard time finding it.... Udink?

I don't think the location is published online anywhere, so I'd be hesitant to be the first to do it. There are enough photos floating around out there that you should be able to find the rock art easily if you really want to, though. :)

Yeah, for some reason I figured the art was fake, which is why I didn't mention it in the write-up...but I had also read that there was some art nearby, so I figured it was good enough to post pictures of the fake stuff! :)
