Album Hoodoos, Spires and other Rock Formations

We also have some interesting spires and hoodoos on the Big Island: these are lava trees!!
When a lava flow engulfed these trees, the bark's moisture prevented the tree from burning.
Eventually, the lava drained away and left these casts.
You can tell how high the lava flow was.
The lava trees are definitely a cool feature, and there are many out here.

So interesting. Are these from the recent lava flows (in the past few years)? Or earlier?
