I said 2 days, most of my trips are 2 - 4 nights in the SE, it is pretty rare that I don't see someone in passing after a day or so. I've got 5 nights in SEKI coming next week, it would be nice if I did not see anyone, but I'll be on the JMT for at least some of the trip, so I know I'll see some people (hopefully not hordes of people).
That sounds like a pseudo John Muir quoteSome prefer not to stay on trails.
Ask any good questions? "Where is Jimmy Hoffa's body?" "Can you give me the Mega Millions numbers for this Friday?" etc...Backpacking, longest time solo with no human interaction was maybe a week, then the aliens showed up to talk to me.
Here's another: "I have seen the mountains, and into them I must go."That sounds like a pseudo John Muir quote
They actually just wanted my beef jerky. And all Earth's minerals.Ask any good questions? "Where is Jimmy Hoffa's body?" "Can you give me the Mega Millions numbers for this Friday?" etc...
Nonsense. The best question would be "Do I look better in [Dress A] or [Dress B]?"Ask any good questions? "Where is Jimmy Hoffa's body?" "Can you give me the Mega Millions numbers for this Friday?" etc...
Hey, that reminds me, we're still waiting for that photo!Nonsense. The best question would be "Do I look better in [Dress A] or [Dress B]?"
Because at long last, we'd finally have an answer prepared that won't get us into hot water.
Me too. I'm surprised so many people have made it so long on trips without seeing another soul along the trail. Looking back on my longer solo trips in remote areas I can't think of a time I ever made it more than a couple of days without seeing someone somewhere along the way.
I'm still waiting for BCP members to kick in a donation to the Beardsley foundation or the Wilderness Society or whatever.Hey, that reminds me, we're still waiting for that photo!
Also, you're on BCP, which itself is skewed toward trips a little off the beaten path.I have a suspicion that the skew toward the six + is a sampling error. That all the people on this site who have been out that long are drawn by the thread title, while others are not.
If you made it something like 3 or 4 months, @Kmatjhwy would probably show up.I have a suspicion that the skew toward the six + is a sampling error. That all the people on this site who have been out that long are drawn by the thread title, while others are not.
Well, like @Artemus always says, photos, please.I'm still waiting for BCP members to kick in a donation to the Beardsley foundation or the Wilderness Society or whatever.
I'm wearing my rain skirt right now actually. It's not as fashionable as the scat kilt though.
