Noob with a young family checking in

Hello all. I'm fairly new to Utah but have loved living here (Sandy) so far because of all the close outdoors opportunities. My wife and I have a 19 month old and a 3 month old and are getting back into the swing of things outdoors. We have child carriers and for the time being will just be doing day hikes and car camping.

I enjoy backpacking but haven't had many opportunities in the past two three years to backpacking due to family and work but am looking forward to doing more as things calm down at home. Looking to do more family friendly weekend adventures, an occasional trip without the family and of course live vicariously through you guys and your fabulous adventures.

Nice pictures. What area of the sawtooths is that? I'm not very familiar with those mountains, but am increasingly impressed with them the more I see.

I feel your pain, my wife and I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old, it makes it a lot more difficult to do things.

Welcome to BCP! There are a few of us with the little ones on here. The good news is add 10 years and you'll have great hiking/camping/backpacking buddies to do the longer ones with.

We started at the ironcreek trail head and then went up to goat lake and then to Thompson peak. We had a much larger trip planned but my younger brother had some medical issues that we had to bail out for early.
